Jan. 18, 2009--Over 1200 people attended the African American Church Inaugural Ball at the Grand Hyatt Washington. The theme was "We Have Come This Far By Faith!" The ball had two purposes:

Pernessa C. Seele, founder and CEO of The Balm In Gilead, Inc., organized the African American Church Inaugural Ball. The Balm In Gilead is a non-profit which has mobilized churches in the fight against HIV/AIDS. |
Among the groups performing at the African American Church Inaugural Ball were two groups from Mount Vernon, NY: SAGE and the Grace Baptist Church Cathedral Choir directed by Minister Derrick James. |
